| | Founder of TPSC and Kenyon College Swim coach Jim Steen was featured in an article in the New York Times on February 25th. To read the article, click here. Coach Steen and his mens and womens teams are in the final preparation stages before the Division III NCAA Championships to be held at the University of Minnesota on March 18-21, 2009.

| | Last August, Total Performance had several staff members make the journey to Beijing for the 2008 Olympics!
Camp directors Jim Steen (Kenyon College), Greg Earhart (Carthage College) and Steve Jungbluth (Colgate University) along with guest researcher for the elite camps, Dr. Joel Stager (Indiana University), were all present to witness one of the most historic Olympic swimming competitions of all time.
TPSC guest clinicians Mike Bottom (U. of Michigan) and Arthur Albiero (U. of Louisville) were also on the front lines to coach and support their swimmers competing in the meet. Similarly, Coach Steen was able to support one of his recent graduates and many time Division III NCAA National Champion, Andres Duda, compete for his native country of Latvia. After this record breaking Olympic year, the TPSC staff looks forward to sharing with you the most cutting-edge knowledge for training and performance in swimming. Coach Jim Steen and Dr. Joel Stager (who were invited to China in 2001 to observe and work with the Chinese swimming program in their attempt to win the 2008 Olympic bid) were interviewed during the Olympics for China's version of Newsweek Magazine. The picture on the right shows the first two pages of the article.
