Nort Thornton
PERFORMANCE EXPERT - ELITE BREASTSTROKE SPECIALTY CAMP
A head coach emeritus at University of California Berkeley, Thornton is one of the deans of college coaching in the United States and one of the finest breaststroke coaches in the country.
In 2009 he led Slovenian breaststroker Damir Dugoniic to a national title and NCAA record in the 100 breast and Sean Mahoney to a second place finish in the 200 breast. During his 33-year tenure at the helm of Cal’s mens swimming program, Thornton produced two NCAA Champion teams, 48 individual and relay titles, 108 Pac-10 individual and relay titles, and two Pac-10 team titles. On the international level, he has coached numerous U.S. teams in world-wide competitions, including the FINA cup, World University Games, Pan American Games, Pan Pacific Games, and the World Championships.
