Dave Wharton

Wharton is a leading butterflyer and IMer from the United States, who won the silver medal in the 400 IM at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea.
During his swimming career, Wharton set two World Records in the 400 IM and the 200 IM, was named the Pac-10 Swimmer of the Year for four consecutive years while at the University of Southern California, and was twice named the NCAA Swimmer of the Year. Wharton brings a wealth of experience to TPSC as a world-class swimmer and collegiate coach, having been the assistant coach at Ohio State from 1993 to 1997.
Currently, Wharton serves as the Director of the New Albany Parks and Recreation and the head varsity swimming coach at New Albany High School.
