About Us

Founder of Total Performance Swim Camps (TPSC), Jim Steen, has been the head swim coach at Kenyon College for 35 years. He has lead his teams to an amazing 54 NCAA titles while coaching numerous NCAA Champions, hundreds of All-Americans, and several Olympians. Since 1980, his formula for success and innovative ideas have been incorporated into a camp program that has seen over 10,000 participants from over 40 states and even 5 countries!

The cornerstone of the Total Performance Swim Camps is the dedication to the individual. The Competitive Stroke Camps place particular focus on stroke technique and effective training, which accommodates both the novice and highly-trained swimmer (ages 10 - 18). After all, to achieve Total Performance you can’t have just technique or just training.

Total Performance's Elite Camps (ages 13 - 18) are highly-technical learning and training programs offering the most race-specific training you will find anywhere. These unique camp experiences are designed for sprinters, breaststrokers and IM'ers and bring in leading experts from around the country.

Don't just take our word for it, we hear stories like this all of the time!

“I just wanted to say how impressed I am with the camp that I sent my daughter to. In each of her time trials yesterday she dropped time, in one 50 she dropped nearly 2 seconds. Furthermore she is begging to go back next year. Job well done!

- Angela, Parent of 2010 Camper
